 ABOUT THIS SITE
This site started on 28 October 2004 in an attempt to document the maternal
family history for my children. I hope that one day it will become a resource
for the many families that married into the original Clough, Warrington,
Butler and Simpson branches.

All the names that appear on these pages are believed to be related to: * the Clough/Greenhalgh family from Bolton, Lancashire,
 * the Taylor/Isherwood family from Bolton, Lancashire
 * the Warrington family from Manchester & Staffordshire,
 * the Butler/Whiteman family from Burwash & Peasmarsh, Sussex and * the Simpson/Wilkin family from Norwich, Norfolk and Suffolk.

 Health Warning
This is a work in progress so not all the earlier names that appear on this
site may be taken as fact. Where sources confirm a connection to the family
they are documented in the individual's notes. I may have missed adding some
census references so please let me know if you spot any of these. I have also
tried to highlight those names that are completely unconfirmed, so beware of
taking any of that information as fact.

 Getting Around
To find someone on this site, scroll down and click on one of the a-z letters
that correspond to the surname you're looking for, then pick the surname
from the list. Females can be found under their maiden names. Clicking
an individual's name will take you into the tree. Once in the tree,
navigate by clicking on the names. Photo's may be clicked on to to
get a larger image (be careful if you're not on a broadband connection).

 My Sincere Thanks
Many thanks to the people who have contributed information (too numerous to
mention individually....but you know who you are) and to those that edit
information in their own branches. This site cannot work without active
participants, telling me when information changes or when I get it wrong. If
you would like to add (especially pictures) or change something, just drop me
a note.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
